The Assisted School Travel Program (ASTP) provides individualised transport to and from school for 12,800 eligible students across NSW.

Parents

Families who have a child with a disability may be eligible for transport through the Assisted School Travel Program (ASTP).

Schools

Schools are important partners with families in assessing and supporting the safe travel needs of students to and from school.

ATSOs

Assisted Travel Support Officers (ATSOs) are Department employees who provide a high level of supervision and support for students on transport.

Contractors

Contractors provide vehicles and drivers to transport eligible students with a disability to and from school.

ASTP and the NDIS

Transport through the ASTP is provided as an in-kind support for NDIS participants who are eligible to receive an ASTP service.

Appeals

If your child's application is unsuccessful or their variation is declined you may submit an appeal.
